Created in 2007 by Pete Kartsounes and John "Digger" Peláez, the Hike4Cancer Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting children with critical illnesses, along with their families. By combining a love for music, hiking, and community, Pete's vision of helping families enduring hardships has come to fruition through Hike4Cancer.
2011 Hike4Cancer Hikes:

Who wants to come along? There REALLY is no better feeling then to get out there in nature and submerge yourself in the Colorado rocky mountains while making a difference for our beneficiaries of 2011. Here is who we are raising the money and awareness for this year:
In 2011, Hike4Cancer is supporting THERE WITH CARE for a third year PLUS, will be taking on a few special initiatives that have touched our hearts and desperately need financial support and awareness. One of these initiatives is providing support to place burial sight markers for children who have lost their battle with cancer and whose families may not be able to afford a grave marker. Imagine having to bury a child and not having a burial marker to honor that child's life. We want to help grieving parents and families with a final piece of closure during an unimaginable time.
